Q: What’s this device for?
A: A small size, light weight rigging block for working lines up to 1/2” (13 mm) in diameter. Paired up with various rigging slings, up to 5/8" in diameter, allows user to safely lower loads from the canopy.

Q: What problem does this product solve?
A: 1/2" block is lighter than most, therefore it reduces the weight carried by the climber. Its compact size allows the block to be used in tight rigging scenarios.
 

Q: What working conditions can this block handle?
A: This product is suitable for most working conditions found in harsh arborist environments. Please be sure to keep block from taking on any direct impact from the load being lowered.

Q: What products does this block work well with?
A: The Notch 1/2" Rigging Block pairs well with a variety of rigging & ultra slings. We recommend the 5/8" Loopie combo & Ultra Sling combo.

Q: What sets this product apart from other products in the industry and why?
A: The Notch 1/2" block is the shortest (height) and narrowest (width) on the market featuring a 20kN WLL & 100kN MBS, making it super compact and strong.

This block features a high wall on the anchor side, improving the protection of the anchor sling.

Q: What is the most common issue and how do you avoid it?
A: The most common issue and potential failure is not completely closing the block. It's imperative to check and ensure the captive screw pin is fully closed by turning the pin clockwise.

 

Also, users should not exceed the appropriate diameter of the rigging rope. The maximum rope size is indicated on the side plate of the block (1/2" or 13 mm).

Q: How easy is this product to use?
A: On a scale of 1 (very easy) to 5 (difficult, takes practice and calibration), this product is a 2. Once installed, it works like other rigging blocks.

Q: How do I store the ½" Rigging Block?
A: Blocks should be stored with other rigging products in a manner to avoid damage during transportation, or exposure to moisture and debris. Caution should be taken to avoid contact with other heavy objects which can create sharp burrs and damage the rope.

Q: How do I clean the block?
A: The ½" Rigging Block can be cleaned via compressed air; and a small soft nylon bristle brush can be used to reach tight areas around the sheave to remove any debris.
