Device purpose:
This is a medium-sized arbor rigging block meant for working lines up to ⅝” (16mm) in diameter. Paired up with various rigging slings, up to ¾" in diameter, it allows the user to safely lower loads from the canopy.

How does this product help arborists?
Being in the middle of the size range, it's not as heavy as the ¾" block but allows a similar working load (WLL).

What working conditions can the ⅝” block handle?
This product is suitable for most working conditions found in harsh arborist environment.

Be sure to keep block from taking on any direct impact from the load being lowered. Ensure the proper working conditions and compatibility of the chosen rigging sling.

What other products does this block work well with?
The Notch ⅝" rigging block pairs well with variety of rigging & ultra slings. We recommend the ¾" Loopie Combo or the Ultra Sling Combo.

What sets this product apart from other products in the industry and why?
Like the other Notch Rigging Blocks in the family, the ⅝” Notch Rigging Block features a high wall on the anchor side, which improves the protection of the sling rope.

What is the most common issue and how do you avoid it?
The most common issue and potential failure is not completely closing the block. It's imperative to check and ensure the captive spring pin is fully closed by turning the pin clockwise.

The user should hear audible sound and feel the pin engaging in the closed position.

When setting up the block to rig, always position the spring pin to face away from the tree to avoid the potential hazard of the impact which could lead to damaging the pin or potentially pushing it to the open position.

Also, users should not exceed the appropriate diameter of the rigging size rope, maximum rope size is indicated on the side plate of the block.

How easy is this product to use?
On a scale of 1 (very easy) to 5 (difficult, takes practice and calibration), this product is a 2. Once installed, it works like other rigging blocks.

How do I store the ⅝" Rigging Block?
Blocks should be stored with other rigging products in manner to avoid damage during transportation, exposure to moisture and debris. Caution should be taken to avoid contact with other heavy objects which can create sharp burrs and damage the rope.

Q: How do I clean the block?
The block can be cleaned via compressed air; a small soft nylon bristle brush can be used to reach tight areas around the sheave to remove any debris.
